Huawei Mate 70 series can use ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and new battery technology

At the Huawei Developer Conference, CEO Yu Chengdong announced the release of the Mate 70 series in the fourth quarter of 2024. A new report from a Weibo correspondent reveals details about the Mate 70.

The series will feature updated displays with 1.5K panels, where some models will have screens with the same profile and others will have flat screens.

The Mate 70 will be equipped with a new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which may replace the optical sensor of its predecessor. In addition, all models will have larger batteries with new materials to increase energy density without increasing size.

A new tablet is also planned to be released alongside the Mate 70 in November this year. The Kirin 9100 chipset is likely to be manufactured using a 7nm process, as 5nm technology is too expensive and has certain limitations.
