TikTok's ByteDance develops Pico 4S VR headset

Insiders are reporting details about a new mixed reality headset, the Pico 4S (or Pico 4 Ultra in some regions), developed by Pico, a company owned by ByteDance, the owner of TikTok. The headset has already received the approval of the South Korean National Research Agency (RRA) and may appear on the market in the near future.

Here's What We Know

Pico 4S is likely to have an updated Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, similar to the one used in Quest 3. According to Geekbench, the new chipset will be equipped with two 2.05GHz cores and four 2.36GHz cores, as well as 12GB of RAM, which is more than the Quest 3, which has 8GB.

The front of the headset, which looks like a display, actually has mixed reality cameras. This allows you to see the real world while in a virtual environment. The Pico 4S also offers improved comfort with a padded back that provides a better fit on the head.

The Pico 4S controllers will have detachable straps for easy handling and protection against falling out. This will help avoid problems with hand tracking and lost controllers.
