Foxconn hires 50,000 workers due to increased iPhone 16 production - Apple expecting strong sales

Autumn is approaching, and with it - the time of new iPhones. Apple is actively preparing for the release of the iPhone 16 line and expects an increase in sales of gadgets.

Here's What We Know

In anticipation of high demand, the company decided to increase production of iPhone 16 by 10%. The total output of smartphones should reach 90 million.

According to BusinessKorea, Foxconn's factory in China, which is the world's largest iPhone production base, is running at full capacity. Moreover, over the past few weeks, Foxconn has hired 50,000 more people to assemble smartphones and raised wages and bonuses to attract the necessary labour force. For example, the hourly wage has been increased to 25 yuan and the hiring bonus to 7,500 yuan.

Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant is central to Apple's global supply chain, responsible for about 80 per cent of the company's iPhone production.
