Two shows and a world premiere: Sega has revealed its plans for gamescom 2024

Japanese company Sega has confirmed participation in the largest European exhibition gamescom 2024 and announced what games will be presented there.

Here's What We Know

Sega will show three games at gamescom 2024:

  • Sonic X Shadow Generations, the story of which unfolds parallel to the events of Sonic Generations (2011), and will be centred on Shadow the Hedgehog (Shadow). The game will release on 25 October on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch;
  • Metaphor: ReFantazio is an ambitious fantasy JRPG from Atlus Studios, the developers behind the last three Persona instalments and Shin Megami Tensei III - Nocturne. The game releases on 11 October on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PC;
  • Sega's third game will be a surprise for gamers, and will be announced at the opening ceremony of gamescom 2024. Perhaps it will be a new Yakuza/ Like a Dragon instalment, especially since it was recently revealed that the Sega has trademarked Yakuza Wars: Like a Dragon series fans are trying to figure out what the studio's new Ryu Ga Gotoku game might be like.

The opening ceremony of gamescom 2024 will start on the evening of 20 August, and the event will last until 25 August. It is stated that a record number of companies will be exhibiting at the show, including Microsoft, 2K Games, Ubisoft, Plaion, Square Enix, THQ Nordic, Capcom, Blizzard, Konami, Microids, and Warhorse.
