Blasphemous fans can expect a new release in the autumn, with The Game Kitchen studio releasing a cryptic teaser

At the end of July, The developers of the two parts of the highly regarded metroidvania Blasphemous are hinting at some kind of imminent announcement. Perhaps gamers will be presented with DLC for Blasphemous 2 its games with an announcement related to the series of dystopian metroidvania Blasphemous, and the developers continue to fuel the public's interest.

Here's What We Know

The game's X page has published a short teaser featuring an image of the Mea Culpa sword used by Blasphemous' protagonist. It says that a certain novelty with an age rating of "16+" will be released in autumn 2024.

Since the second instalment of Blasphemous was only released a year ago, it's unlikely that the small team has had time to make enough progress in developing a third instalment (if such plans even exist). Most likely, gamers will be waiting for DLC or a major update for Blasphemous 2.

Recall, the first part of Blasphemous was released in 2019, the second, as already mentioned, in 2023. Both parts are characterised by an extremely dark visual style with biblical motifs, high difficulty, non-obvious mechanics and confusing locations. The games have received high praise from critics and gamers, so The Game Kitchen has no reason not to continue the franchise.
