Hi-Fi Rush will live on: Korean publisher Krafton acquires Tango Gameworks

In May 2024, Microsoft closed the Tango Gameworks studio, which is known for the Hi-Fi Rush game. It seemed that everyone had already said goodbye to Tango, but it was saved, as well as the Hi-Fi Rush franchise.

Here's What We Know

Krafton, the publisher of PUBG and The Callisto Protocol, has acquired Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush intellectual property from Xbox in a "strategic deal". The publisher is now working to ensure a smooth transition so that the Tango team can continue to develop the next projects in the Hi-Fi Rush universe. Therefore, it is highly likely that players will see the sequel.

However, the details of the deal, such as the amount of the acquisition, were not disclosed.

Where To Play

Hi-Fi Rush is available on PC, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass.

Flashback

Hi-Fi Rush begins with a dubious experiment where a music player is attached to the heart of a young man named Chai. Now, together with his team, he has to destroy the sinister corporation. The peculiarity of the gameplay is that all battles are synchronised with the music and only when you feel the beat, you can arrange epic combinations and destroy enemies in locations that are made in the style of cartoons.
