End of an era: Nokia may exit the consumer electronics market

Recently, events have been unfolding in such a way that Nokia may stop producing devices under its brand. The company is gradually losing licence agreements with several partners who manufactured products with the legendary Nokia name.

Here's What We Know

HMD Global, which previously produced Nokia-branded devices, is now producing them under its own brand. The HMD Skyline smartphone, inspired by the Lumia design, was unveiled in July. The company is also working on a tablet and other products.

Some of Nokia's partners are discontinuing products under the brand. For example, StreamView, which produced Nokia smart TVs, now produces them under the Thomson brand. Headphone maker RichGo has also stopped producing Nokia-branded products and removed them from its website. Laptops manufactured by OffGlobal will also no longer be released under that name.

Nokia has not yet given an official statement on the future of its brand licensing. The company may want to completely withdraw from the traditional consumer market, but will continue to play an important role in the telecoms industry.
