Google has unveiled its new flagship smartphone Pixel 9, which impresses not only with its design but also with a powerful set of AI-based features. The device is sold at a starting price of USD 799.

Here's What We Know

The Pixel 9 is equipped with Google's new Tensor G4 processor, which delivers high performance combined with 12GB of RAM. This chip supports a number of AI-based features that improve the camera and overall performance of the device.

The smartphone has a 6.3-inch Actua display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Pixel 9 also features a new camera design with a 50MP primary lens and an ultra-wide 48MP lens that supports enhanced macro mode and 8x Super Res optical zoom.

The device's camera is equipped with new features such as Add Me, which allows users to combine photos to create group shots. Familiar features such as Night Sight for night photography and Magic Editor for photo editing are also available.

One of the most anticipated new features is Satellite SOS, which allows users to transmit an SOS signal via a satellite network in the absence of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. This service will be free for the first two years for users in the US.

Pixel 9 is powered by Android 14 and will receive operating system and security updates for 7 years. The smartphone will be available in four colours: Obsidian, Porcelain, Wintergreen and Peony, and will be launched in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
