Google Classroom gets Gemini for creative lesson creation and new tools for parents

Google Classroom is celebrating its tenth anniversary and introducing new features using artificial intelligence for education. At the recent Made by Google event, the company announced a number of improvements to Classroom that promise to revolutionise the learning process.

Here's What We Know

First, parents and guardians will receive new tools for monitoring student assignments and the ability to subscribe to electronic digests summarising their children's progress. For students with additional reading needs, the Read Along tool now supports Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Most of the innovations affect teachers. Gemini to Classroom will soon be available globally, offering new opportunities for creative lesson design. This tool will help teachers develop innovative curricula and optimise access to student progress data.

The new features are expected to allow better tracking of student progress and offer more assessment options.
