Steam will now prioritise meaningful game reviews over humorous ones: however, such content will not be removed

Sometimes, before buying a game on Steam, you go to read player reviews, but most of them consist of one word or even pancake recipes. So Valve decided to improve the sorting of reviews in its store.

Here's What We Know

Valve has begun testing a new system that changes the way user reviews are sorted on store pages to prioritise those that best help players make game purchase decisions.

User reviews that are determined to be unhelpful to potential buyers (such as those with only one word or mostly memes) will be sorted after other reviews on the game's page.

This does not mean that no one will ever see them. However, the company hopes that players who are trying to learn more about the game will see them less often. If you like such reviews, you can choose the option to see them on the store page.
