Samsung has introduced a 122.88TB SSD for the enterprise market
Samsung has introduced a new SSD with QLC V-NAND technology for the enterprise segment with a record capacity of 122.88TB. The novelty is characterised by high performance and energy efficiency, which makes it ideal for use in data centres and servers working with artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
The BM1743 SSD delivers sequential read speeds up to 7.5GB/s and write speeds up to 3GB/s, as well as random reads up to 1.6 million IOPS and writes up to 45k IOPS. Compared to previous models, the new drive offers a 4.1X improvement in I/O performance and a 45% improvement in sequential write power efficiency. This makes it ideal for data centres and cloud services where both high performance and energy efficiency are important.
Samsung also showed off other SSD models including the PM9D3a and PM1753, which offer different form factors and capacities up to 32TB. The former has sequential read speeds of up to 12GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6.8GB/s. The second has up to 14.8 GB/s and up to 11 GB/s, respectively. These devices are designed for a wide range of applications, from AI servers to cloud computing.
