Xiaomi has released HyperOS 1.5 update for Xiaomi 14 series and other devices

Xiaomi has started rolling out a major HyperOS 1.5 update for its smartphones in China. This update includes an August security patch, new features, performance improvements and bug fixes.

Here's What We Know

Xiaomi 14 series devices, Redmi K70 and some other devices were the first to receive the update. HyperOS 1.5 adds the ability to customise the lock screen, improves system smoothness and enhances the user interface.

Users can now personalise their lock screens by simply tapping and holding the screen. The update also speeds up apps and makes them run smoother, while various customisations improve interaction with the device, making it easier and more intuitive to use.

Other devices including the Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 and Redmi Turbo 3 will also receive the update soon. In September, the update will be available for the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and the Redmi K60 series.

For users outside China, the update will be released for a range of devices which include:

- Redmi Note 12 4G
- POCO M5
- Redmi 11 Prime 4G
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 13
- Redmi Pad SE
- Xiaomi 14 Ultra
- Redmi Note 11
- Redmi Pad

In the future, Xiaomi plans to release HyperOS 2.0 with hidden camera detection, which will add a new level of security for users. HyperOS 2.0 is expected to be released in October.
