Google updates the Pixel Thermometer app, improving the app's user interface and design

Google has updated the Pixel Thermometer app for the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro smartphones. Originally, the temperature sensor on the back of the Pixel 8 Pro could only measure the temperature of objects, but after receiving FDA approval, it became suitable for measuring human body temperature. Despite the lack of hardware improvements in the Pixel 9 Pro, Google has redesigned the app's interface to improve its usability.

Here's What We Know

The app now has a "Routine Measurements" section where you can select the type of material to measure the temperature. If the desired material is not listed, you can add it manually. The temperature measurement interface has also been updated, now using the rear camera to display the object whose temperature is to be measured and offering recommendations on the best distance for measurement accuracy.

While the updated interface is claimed to be part of the latest version of the app, some users are reporting that they are left with the old interface after installing the update. Google may have temporarily left the new interface exclusive to the Pixel 9 Pro before making it available for the Pixel 8 Pro.
