Pixel Weather app coming soon to Pixel tablet and older smartphones

Google has unveiled new Pixel 9 smartphones, including the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and 9 Pro Fold, with numerous design and hardware updates, as well as new AI features. Among the new features is the Pixel Weather app, which provides AI-powered weather reports.

However, Google did not limit the exclusivity of Pixel Weather to the new Pixel 9 models. According to an updated support article on the company's website, the app will be available on the Pixel tablet as well. The newest weather app will be available on the Pixel 9 series of smartphones after their launch, as well as on the Pixel Tablet.

Most of the Pixel Weather features, except for AI Weather Report, will be available for Pixel 8 and older devices. New features will be available in the December Pixel Feature Drop update. The app also integrates with Google Clock and is available for Pixel 5a and later. It can also be installed on non-Pixel phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Flip 6.

Pixel Weather offers a number of useful features, including a 10-day forecast, air quality data, humidity levels, and a map to view a 6-hour rainfall forecast. A special feature of the app is the "AI Weather Report", powered by the Gemini Nano model, which provides detailed weather information such as precipitation, wind, UV index, visibility and pressure.

The weather map also provides a 6-hour precipitation forecast and will be available in the US, UK and most EU countries, with the exception of Italy, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
