Google Drive adds JPEG support for scanned documents

Google Drive is expanding its ability to save scanned documents. This new feature allows you to save documents as JPEGs, which significantly reduces their size compared to PDFs, makes them easier to upload via mobile data, and makes them easier to share.

Previously, users could only scan documents in PDF format, but now they can save them as JPEGs, which saves time and resources when uploading files.

The feature is now available for all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google accounts. It is available on Android and iOS platforms and should be available within the next fifteen days.

In addition, Google has also updated its scanning tools to include automatic capture, photo import, and filters to improve text visibility.

As part of the updates, Google has also announced support for video conferencing through Logitech's Rally Bar Huddle for Meet, which will make video conferencing easier for organisations to manage.
