Google Messages stops supporting picture-in-picture (PiP) for YouTube

Google has decided to stop supporting the picture-in-picture (PiP) feature for YouTube in the Messages app.

Here's What We Know

This option, introduced back in October 2022, allowed you to watch YouTube videos in a floating window while messaging.

Currently, the latest beta version of Google Messages no longer contains all the code elements that provided PiP functionality, and this change is also visible in the stable version of the app.

Initially, PiP looked like a useful feature that made it easy to watch videos without leaving the chat.
