The army of the so-called Transnistrian Moldovan Republic has begun equipping its T-64BVs with "grills"
The armed groups of the so-called PMR have begun to mount anti-drone "grills" on their old T-64BV tanks.
Here's What We Know
The Ministry of Defence of the unrecognised republic published a photo showing two T-64BVs from the tank battalion of the First Guards Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade, with their turrets covered with special "grills".
It is worth noting that the tank fleet of the so-called PMR includes about 12 active and about 5 reserve combat vehicles. Moreover, this tank battalion is located in the village of Volodymyrivka, four kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
It is likely that the authorities of the unrecognised republic decided to equip the tanks with "grills" because of the attacks by unknown kamikaze drones that took place in the spring. On 17 March, a kamikaze drone attacked a malfunctioning Mi-8 helicopter at the Tiraspol airfield. On 5 April, another drone attacked a military unit in the Ribnita district.
