The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip will emphasise efficiency and artificial intelligence processing than pure power
Qualcomm is preparing to unveil its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip at the Snapdragon Summit event in October. According to the latest leaks, the new processor will focus on efficiency and artificial intelligence rather than pure power.
Here's What We Know
A report from Smartprix says that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be available in two variants: the standard SM8750 for most manufacturers and a version for the Samsung Galaxy with the number SM8750P.
The chip will be manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process and will be built on custom Oryon cores that debuted in the Snapdragon X line of ARM-powered notebooks. The processor architecture includes two 4.0GHz premium cores and six 2.8GHz power efficiency cores. A new Adreno 830 GPU and Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 modem are also expected.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 promises improved artificial intelligence processing, including audio, camera and sensor functions, as well as generative AI tasks. Xiaomi will reportedly be the first company to use this chip in its flagship Xiaomi 15 series.
