Google will not release new smartwatches under the Fitbit brand: focus on Pixel Watch
Google has officially announced that it will no longer produce smartwatches under the Fitbit brand. Instead, the company's new smartwatches will be called Pixel Watch.
Here's What We Know
The last release from Fitbit, the Versa 4 and Sense 2 models, took place in 2022, shortly before the first Pixel Watch appeared. While both devices had their advantages, the Pixel Watch quickly established itself as a leader in health and physical activity tracking.
Google plans to focus the Fitbit brand on trackers with long battery life and minimalist designs, abandoning the smartwatch.
Pixel Watch will continue to evolve with new features and improvements. Pixel Watch 2 starts at $249, which is the same price as the Sense 2 model. It is not yet clear how long both lines will exist side by side.
Pixel Watch 3 is already available for pre-order and will arrive in September.
