Google Pixel 9 now lets you transfer data anytime after initial setup

Google has added a new feature for Pixel 9 users that allows you to transfer data from your previous device anytime after the initial setup.

Here's What We Know

Previously, users had to make the decision to transfer data during the initial switch on of the new smartphone, otherwise the process became more complicated further on. Now, Google has now customised the Android system for the Pixel 9 so that users can take advantage of the new "Copy Data" setting at any time.

This feature allows you to transfer photos, contacts, messages and other data from your previous device without losing your current data on the new smartphone. In addition, any changed settings on the Pixel 9 will not be overwritten when copying data. This innovation greatly simplifies the process of switching to a new smartphone, making it more flexible and user-friendly.

While Google didn't specify why this feature wasn't available earlier, this change makes the data migration process more similar to Samsung's similar "Smart Switch" feature. It is expected that this feature may appear on other Android devices in the future.
