Entrepreneur Mike Lynch, known as "Britain's Bill Gates" has died following the wreck of a superyacht that was caught in a storm
British software tycoon Mike Lynch, 59, has died after the Bayesian superyacht he was on sank off the coast of Sicily during a storm.

There were reportedly 21 people on board the yacht, of whom 15 were rescued, including Lynch's wife Angela Bacares, while six people were initially reported missing. But according to new information, rescuers found 5 bodies drowned, including Lynch's own body. Lynch's daughter, 18-year-old Hannah, who was also aboard the yacht, is still missing.
Lynch was celebrating his acquittal on fraud charges handed down by a jury in the US a few weeks earlier. Lynch, often referred to as the "British Bill Gates", was known for his software innovations and entrepreneurial endeavours.
Lynch founded Autonomy, which became one of the leading companies in data analysis software. In recent years, he was involved in litigation related to the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard. He has been accused of fraud.
Italian prosecutors are investigating the exact circumstances of the shipwreck after some eyewitnesses said the yacht sank in just minutes.
