Insider: Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor's graphics core will have a significantly higher clock speed than its predecessor

As we get closer to the October launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, new details about this flagship processor are emerging. This time, some details about the processor's video core have come to light.

Here's What We Know

According to a leak from reliable whistleblower Ice Universe, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will feature the Adreno 830 GPU, which is tested at 1250 MHz (1.25 GHz). This is a significant improvement over the Adreno 750 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which runs at 903 MHz for the standard variant and 1,000 MHz for performance versions such as the "for Galaxy" version.

The AnTuTu test for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 shows a GPU score of 1.3 million points which is well above the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 top rating of 896,416 points. However, it's worth noting that the 1250MHz frequency was achieved with an engineering sample and the final version of the SoC may have different specifications.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be manufactured on a 3nm process, support dual-channel LPDDR5X SDRAM and have Qualcomm Spectra ISP 8-series image processor. Connectivity includes support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and UWB. The chipset also features a Low-Power AI subsystem for continuous AI processing without sacrificing battery life.
