Google Pixel 9 gets Adaptive Touch, which significantly improves touch sensitivity
The Google Pixel 9 series has recently received a new feature that significantly improves the experience with wet fingers.
Here's What We Know
Adaptive Touch, a new built-in mechanism in the Pixel 9, automatically adjusts the sensitivity of the touchscreen based on various factors.
This feature is activated by default and adjusts the sensitivity of the screen depending on conditions such as the wetness of your fingers or the presence of a screen protector.
Tests have shown that the Pixel 9 with Adaptive Touch shows a marked improvement in touch sensitivity compared to the Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 9 scrolls smoothly with a wet finger, while the Pixel 8 Pro often experiences occasional jumps and crashes.
How To Switch It On
Adaptive Touch is automatically enabled on all Pixel 9 devices, so there's no need to go through the settings. If you want to turn it off, you can find the corresponding toggle in the Settings, Display, Touch sensitivity menu.
