Steam has a new online peak: On 25 August, more than 37 million people used the service simultaneously

In July, Steam reached a peak online presence of almost 37 million people. The reason for this was the summer sale, but a little over a month later, this result was surpassed.

On 25 August, Steam recorded a new online peak of 37,266,324 players. Interestingly, only 12,534,703 people were playing games at that moment. One of the reasons was the action game Black Myth: Wukong, which is currently the most popular, with about 1 million people online at the same time.
