In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the puzzles will be challenging, but not to the point where you have to go to YouTube to watch walkthroughs
While Nathan Drake and Lara Croft are taking a break from their adventures, Indiana Jones will return to consoles and PCs in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. And what can a treasure hunt be without puzzles? In such games, this element plays an important role, and the developers from MachineGames told us more about it.
Here's What We Know
MachineGames creative director Jens Andersson said that they wanted to make the puzzles challenging, but not to the point where you would go to YouTube to watch walkthroughs.
Also, they did not want to turn puzzles into "cinematic scenery" when all you have to do is pull a lever.
The main goal was to find a balance to make them challenging, but not to lock you in a location for hours.
But what if you do get stuck? There's no need to run to YouTube anyway. Just take a picture of the puzzle, and Indiana will help you and give you a hint.
The game also focuses on melee combat: the protagonist is a great fist fighter and can throw enemies off balance with his whip.
The hero has a revolver, and in battle he can pick up some other types of weapons, but MachineGames did not want to make another shooter, so players will not be given too much ammunition, and the game is not focused on shootouts. Players will travel to Egypt, Thailand, and even the Himalayas to find artefacts and solve the mystery of the Great Circle.
When We Can Expect It
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on 9 December on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series, including Game Pass. And in the spring of 2025, the game will be available on PlayStation 5.
