The Opening Night Live 24 ceremony was watched 40 million times - twice as many times as in 2023

On 20 August, Opening Night Live 2024 took place, which was also the opening ceremony of gamescom 2024. We were shown dozens of trailers, new games were announced, and more information about the already known ones was given, but how popular was the broadcast?

Here's What We Know

Organiser Jeff Keighley said that Opening Night Live 24 was watched more than 40 million times across all platforms. This is twice as much as last year, as in 2023, the figure was only 20 million.

As for Gamescom 2024 itself, it was attended by 335,000 people from 120 countries. This number is not much different from 2023, when 320,000 gaming fans attended the event.
