Saab transfers a new batch of Bolide missiles for the RBS 70 SAM system to Lithuania

The Lithuanian Army has received a new batch of Bolide anti-aircraft missiles.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the Ministry of Defence of the country. The Lithuanian army will use the new weapons with RBS 70 man-portable surface-to-air missile systems.

Incidentally, Lithuania signed a contract with Saab Dynamics AB to supply Bolide missiles in 2022. The amount of the deal was 45 million euros. The first batch of missiles was handed over to the Lithuanian army this spring.

Flashback

Bolide is a high-speed guided missile for the RBS-70 SAM system developed by the Swedish company Saab to engage air targets at low and medium altitudes. Bolide is highly manoeuvrable and accurate due to laser guidance. The missile is capable of engaging helicopters, drones and cruise missiles.
