Samsung has started testing the new Galaxy Book 5 Pro laptop, which could be announced later this year

Samsung has started internal tests of its new Galaxy Book 5 Pro laptop, which has the model number NT940XGK-DSD. According to the SiSoftware database, a popular PC performance testing tool, the device features an Intel 8-core processor and Intel Arc graphics.

Here's What We Know

The processor's performance cores run at 2.8GHz, while the power-efficient cores run at 1.6GHz. The Arc graphics processor has 64 processing units and runs at 1.85GHz. The laptop also features 16GB of RAM and 1TB of Samsung PCIe 4×4 NVMe SSD storage. The device is expected to run Windows 11 and support Galaxy ecosystem features such as Buds Auto Switch, Quick Share and Samsung Gallery.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro may be available in 14-inch and 16-inch screen versions, both with Super AMOLED 2x touchscreen displays. The laptop is expected to have HDMI, USB 4/Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A ports, a fingerprint scanner and a large glass trackpad. There could be up to 5 models in the Galaxy Book 5 series, where the flagship models could come with discrete Nvidia RTX graphics cards, as the current Galaxy Book 4 Ultra model uses an Nvidia RTX 4070 video adapter.

The Galaxy Book 5 series could officially launch later this year or early next year.
