Blue Protocol will disappear in Japan on 18 January 2025, and its Western release has been cancelled

Bandai Namco has announced that it will cease development of Blue Protocol, its free-to-play MMORPG that launched in Japan in June 2023. The game's service will end on 18 January 2025, and the previously planned Western release in partnership with Amazon Games has been cancelled.

Here's What We Know

The publisher has expressed disappointment with the decision, noting that their collaboration with Amazon Games has been close throughout the development process. However, despite the joint efforts, Bandai Namco ultimately decided that it could not provide a satisfactory global experience for players.

The launch of Blue Protocol was initially met with great enthusiasm, but encountered various issues that the development team worked hard to resolve. Unfortunately, these efforts were not enough to keep the game afloat. The Western release, which was already delayed, was eventually deemed unfeasible.
