Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said at a meeting in Brussels that their position on the use of weapons remains unchanged.
Here's What We Know
Italy has said that it does not allow Kyiv to use weapons sent from Italy to strike at Russian territory. Antonio Tajani said this at an informal meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council, which will also be attended by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
"We have been sending mainly defensive weapons, and now we are going to send a new SAMP-T air defence system, which is a defensive weapon and cannot be used in Russia," Tajani explained.
He also emphasised that his country is not at war with Russia, so they are strongly opposed to Ukraine using their weapons on Russian territory.
