Taiwan claims low accuracy of weapons it purchased from the US

Taiwan's military said that US-provided anti-tank weapons had a low hit rate during a recent exercise.

Earlier this week, seventeen US BGM-71 missiles were fired as part of the Sky Horse military exercise, but only seven of them successfully hit their targets.

The incident raised concerns about the accuracy of the munitions, but the Ministry of National Defence (MND) was quick to clarify that the exercise was focused on familiarising soldiers, not on the performance of the weapons.

However, the ministry said it would hold a discussion next week on the low effectiveness of US-made missiles. The ministry also assured that no soldiers would be punished for the poor performance of the weapons system.

It is worth noting that Taipei has a current order for 1,700 TOW 2B missiles from the US and expects delivery by the end of the year.
