Apple has released a new beta version of iOS 18.1 beta 3 for developers, which includes a "Cleanup" feature for the Photos app.

Here's What We Know

The feature, announced at WWDC in June, uses smart detection and machine learning to remove unwanted objects from photos. Users can find a new eraser-style icon on the bottom toolbar when editing a photo. The feature can remove distracting objects, shadows and reflections, similar to Google's Magic Eraser.

It can also detect people in an image so it doesn't accidentally delete them. Users will be able to manually zoom in and select more precise items to remove. The feature works with any image in the Photos app, not just photos that are taken on the iPhone. The feature is expected to be available to all users by the end of the year.
