Gearbox is true to its style - the first concept art of Borderlands 4 proves it
At the opening ceremony of gamescom 2024 Gearbox studio and publisher 2K Games finally announced Borderlands 4 - the new part of the popular shooter series.
Unfortunately, the debut teaser didn't reveal any details and didn't show locations, characters and other elements of the game. But the developers hastened to correct this situation and showed fans some concept art.
Here's What We Know
At the PAX West 2024 event Gearbox presented four Borderlands 4 concept arts, which depict post-apocalyptic locations characteristic for this franchise, which, despite their not the most prosperous appearance, shine with neon lights.
The artwork shows that the developers do not depart from the usual visual style and the fourth part of Borderlands 4 will also be made in Cell shading aesthetics and resembles roughly drawn comics.
In addition, the developers said that in Borderlands 4 gamers will be offered four unique playable characters, among which will be the usual Soldier and Siren with magical abilities, but their concept will be significantly reworked compared to previous parts to deepen the role-playing system of the shooter. This is very important, as Borderlands is primarily a co-operative shooter and having characters that are different from each other is the key to making it fun for gamers to play the game together.
When We Can Expect It
Borderlands 4 will be released in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
