Hyundai plans to sell 2 million electric vehicles by 2030

Hyundai announced a new strategy during Investor Day 2024 aimed at ambitious growth, especially in the electric vehicle market.

Here's What We Know

The company plans to increase its annual global vehicle sales to 5.55 million by 2030, in particular through an active transition to electrification. Hyundai expects electric vehicles to account for 36% of total sales, or 2 million units.

A key element of this strategy will be the new three-row electric SUV Ioniq 9, which will be launched in the US. Hyundai will double the number of hybrid models from 7 to 14, with plans to sell 1.33 million of them by 2028.

Hyundai has introduced new electric vehicles with a long range (EREV) that can travel more than 885 km thanks to a unique power system. Mass production of these cars will begin in both North America and China at the end of 2026, with sales starting in 2027.
