The creators of the Penguin series said that Batman's appearance should not be expected, as the show shows Gotham from a different perspective

We wrote that Robert Pattinson's Batman is rumoured to appear in the Penguin series, which is a spin-off to the 2022 film about the Gotham's defender. However, the authors of the show said that it is better not to expect this.

Here's What We Know

The showrunner of the series, Lauren LeFranc, understands why people want to see Batman, or think that if Batman is not in a TV series or film, it is not so interesting. But it's a different story at Penguin. Matt's films are through the lens of Batman, so you're high up looking down on the city. It's a different perspective. In Penguin, you're on the city streets, in the mud and dirt and grime. And he's looking up, trying to make his way to the top.

So it's a completely different experience. I think Gotham is a pretty interesting city, and it deserves to have more doors open and for us to go through.

Batman director Matt Reeves says he doesn't feel that the series is missing anything fundamental. He knows that it is a continuation of what is already at the core. We know it's Batman's world.

You're going down a different alley. So the spirit of Batman is there. The spirit of the Riddler is there. The spirit of everything that happens in the last film is there.

The Penguin is played by the unsurpassed Colin Farrell. The actor has already played the villain in Batman (2022).

The series will begin immediately after the end of Batman and will show how Oswald Cobblepot expands his influence on Gotham and becomes an even greater criminal authority in the city.

The Penguin will have 8 episodes, which will be released weekly. Lauren LeFranc is the writer and showrunner. Matt Reeves, the director of Batman, is the executive producer.
