New DTS Clear Dialogue technology uses AI to enhance dialogue in noisy movie scenes

DTS has announced a new DTS Clear Dialogue feature that uses artificial intelligence to improve speech clarity in TV audio streams.

The technology identifies and enhances dialogue, eliminating the problem when sound effects or music drown out speech, such as in action scenes in movies. The system also allows the sound to be customised based on the user's preferences.

DTS plans to bring the feature to TVs from various manufacturers such as Sony, Hisense, Philips, LG and Vizio. So far, the company is demonstrating the technology at the IFA show in Berlin. DTS is also working with content providers such as Disney to improve the sound in home releases of Marvel films to create an IMAX-like effect.

The technology promises to make watching films and TV series more comfortable by eliminating the need to constantly adjust the volume or turn on subtitles.
