Hyundai Ioniq 5 2025 gets Tesla NACS port and new XRT off-road package

Hyundai has unveiled the updated Ioniq 5 for 2025, which will be the brand's first car with a Tesla NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging connector. This new feature will allow owners to connect directly to the Tesla Supercharger network, which will provide fast and convenient charging without the need for adapters.

Here's What We Know

Previously, Hyundai doubted the feasibility of using the NACS connector due to concerns about charging speed. However, the company has now decided to integrate this port into its electric vehicles, which will double the number of available charging stations for new Ioniq 5 customers. In addition, all new or updated Hyundai electric vehicles from the fourth quarter of 2024 will have a standard NACS port.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 will also be available with a NACS-CCS adapter, which will allow the car to be charged at different charging stations. The new models will provide up to 20 miles of longer range on a single charge compared to previous versions.

A special feature of the new lineup will be the XRT configuration, which includes a raised suspension, improved visual design and increased approach and departure angles, making the Ioniq 5 XRT ideal for off-road use.

Prices for the new trims have not yet been disclosed, but important details are expected to be revealed soon before the start of sales.
