Galaxy Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ will not receive new updates from Samsung
Samsung has announced that it will no longer support updates for the Galaxy Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+. These devices were introduced in August 2020, and support will be discontinued four years after launch.
Here's What We Know
Since last year, these devices have not received OS updates and new features, and now security updates are also being discontinued. Samsung usually provides security updates for at least four years for devices released in 2019 and later. While the company has extended support for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra models to a fifth year, the Galaxy Flip 5G, Tab S7, and Tab S7+ will no longer receive updates.
Not all Galaxy Tab S7 models will stop receiving updates this year. For example, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE will continue to receive security updates until March next year, as it was launched in March 2021. However, for the Galaxy Flip (the LTE version has already stopped receiving updates in April this year) and the other models mentioned above, this is the end of support.
The Galaxy Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Tab S7+ were released with Android 10 and One UI 2.1. They received three major OS updates and the latest version of Android 13 in late 2022 and early 2023, as well as an update to One UI 5.1 and 5.1.1, which was the last for these devices.
