Acer at IFA 2024 unveiled the Project DualPlay gaming laptop, which has a gaming controller built into the chassis

At the IFA show in Berlin, Acer announced a new gaming laptop concept called Project DualPlay. This laptop has a built-in controller, which when inactive acts as a touchpad, and when active becomes a wireless game controller, which is divided into two separate joysticks, allowing two people to play together, like on Nintendo Switch.

Here's What We Know

The laptop has an inbuilt electromagnetic lock with a latch on top of the keyboard, allowing you to attach and detach the controller. It also features retractable 5W speakers to enhance the gaming experience. The controller can be charged directly in the case, avoiding the need for a separate charger. When the controller is plugged in, all of its buttons point downwards, giving the illusion that it's not there.

Although it's just a concept, Acer is showing how the usability and functionality of gaming laptops can be improved in the future.
