Gran Turismo 7 demo, tournaments, free weekends, and more: how will PlayStation celebrate its 30th anniversary?
We wrote that PlayStation is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024. The company has even already shown a themed poster featuring the PS5 Pro logo, but we also know how such a big date will be celebrated.
Here's What We Know
Players should expect a free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 to appear in the winter. This version will include different cars, tracks, and events.
In collaboration with Sony Music, every month from October to January, the company will release a set of digital soundtracks from your favourite PlayStation franchises on Spotify for the first time. You'll be able to listen to the game soundtracks on Spotify or purchase them from various digital music stores, including Amazon Music and Apple Music.
Soundtracks that will be available:
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Twisted Metal
- Starhawk
- Unit 13
On Spotify , you can also listen to our special 30th anniversary PlayStation playlist, featuring the most popular music from PlayStation gamers around the world.
On 21 and 22 September, you can enjoy online games like NBA2K and Call of Duty without a PS Plus subscription.
The same weekend will also see a series of eSports tournaments on PS5 for games such as NBA 2K24, NBA 2K25, Madden NFL 24, MLB The Show 24, EA UFC 5, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. If you own any of these games and qualify, you can compete on 21 and 22 September for a special 30th anniversary avatar and other game-specific prizes. Players on PS5 can register through the Game Hub or by clicking the PlayStation Tournaments button in-game.
