You'll never guess which game was the best game on modern platforms according to Eurogamer publication

The famous gaming publication Eurogamer has turned 25 years old!

In honour of this event, the editorial staff has published its own look at the 100 best games in the history of the industry.

Here's What We Know

The main criterion, after quality, innovation and interest to the public, was the availability of the game on modern platforms and the legality of purchase.

Many people may find the top ten somewhat strange and debatable, and that's quite normal, as everyone has their own opinion and view on good games.

And according to Eurogamer the top ten looks like this:

  1. Tetris Effect
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  3. Outer Wilds
  4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  6. Baldur's Gate 3
  7. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  8. Elden Ring
  9. Nex Machina
  10. Return of the Obra Dinn

Tetris Effect was released in 2018 and is rarely mentioned in the top best games. Tetris is a great puzzle game on its own, but the addition of new options to the game has made it great fun for people of all ages.

The top 100 games included probably all of the most well-known projects: Yakuza 0, Diablo IV, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Hitman 3, Hollow Knight, What Remains of Edith Finch, Cyberpunk 2077, Bloodborne, The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

The only surprising thing was the absence of Red Dead Redemption 2, It Takes Two, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dark Souls in the top 100.

Congratulations to our colleagues from Eurogamer on an impressive anniversary and we hope we can congratulate them on their 50th anniversary!
