Huawei has unveiled a new foldable phone, the Mate XT, which is the world's first triple-screen device.

Here's What We Know

The phone has a dual folding design with two hinges, allowing it to fold into a Z-shape. When folded, it has a thickness of 12.8mm where the leftmost part of the smartphone serves as the 6.4-inch display. When unfolded, the device offers a 10.2-inch OLED screen, which is significantly larger than other foldable phones. The smartphone can also be partially unfolded to a 7.9-inch screen size.

The Mate XT features a 5,600mAh silicon battery that supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The device also has a powerful rear camera system with a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12 MP periscopic camera with 5.5x zoom. There is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Both the main and front camera support video recording in 4K resolution.

The smartphone is powered by Kirin 9010 5G processor and also supports dual-SIM, Bluetooth 5.2, IR port, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone also runs on the Harmony operating system and supports satellite connectivity. The Mate XT is available for pre-order in China with prices ranging from ~$2810 for the 16/256GB storage model, to ~$3375 for the 16/1TB storage model. Actual sales will start from 20 September.
