It's no secret that PlayStation is no longer the dominant force in Japan, as Nintendo has held the majority of the market for generations. However, Sony's platforms are still achieving moderate success in the region. For example, the PS5 recently reached a new sales milestone in Japan.
Here's What We Know
According to the latest weekly sales figures from Famitsu, the PS5 sold more than 33,000 units in the country in the week ending 1 September, bringing it to over 6 million units in its lifetime.
Notably, this was the last week before a significant price increase for the console and its accessories, suggesting that we may see a drop in sales in the near future.
