Some Pixel 9 AI camera features will be available on older Pixel models

A new leak suggests that Google is planning to port several camera features from its flagship Pixel 9 Pro to older models of its smartphones. The company is working on adapting these options for devices starting with the Pixel 6 series.

According to Android Authority, a new version of the Google Photos app has revealed evidence that the Auto Frame and Reimagine features, which were previously exclusive to the Pixel 9, will soon be available on older Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 models.

"Auto Frame allows you to change the format of a photo from landscape to portrait, and Reimagine allows you to completely change the background of your photos.

These features are currently only available for the Pixel 9, but there are references to support for older devices in the new version of Google Photos v6.99.

While the exact release date for older Pixel models is not yet known, it is expected to come in a future update to the Google Photos app.
