In March 2024, Saber Interactive spun off from the Embracer Group holding. However, the company had the right to buy out the Ukrainian studio 4A Games. The problem is that Saber has Russian roots, so this would clearly affect the future of the Metro series not in the best way, but this will not happen (fortunately).
Here's What We Know
Journalist Jason Schreier reported that 4A Games remains under the wing of Embracer. Saber did not want to buy the Ukrainian studio.
Saber CEO Matthew Karch told me this morning that they always intended to work with 4A, but decided that it would be better for all parties if the studio remained part of Embracer
Recall that 4A Games is currently working on the next part of Metro.
