The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are selling worse than their predecessors, but there's more interest in the base models
According to analytical data, the demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max is lower compared to previous models in this period, but the basic iPhone 16 and especially the iPhone 16 Plus is getting more attention.
Here's What We Know
It is reported that sales of iPhone 16 Pro Max are 16% lower and iPhone 16 Pro Max sales are 27% lower than sales of last year's models in the same period. At the same time, interest in the standard and Plus models has increased significantly. Pre-orders for the base iPhone 16 were up 10 per cent and iPhone 16 Plus increased 48 per cent over the iPhone 15 Plus. Overall, iPhone 16 series shipments totalled about 37 million units, down 12.7 per cent from the iPhone 15 in the first weekend.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said a key factor in the start of demand for the iPhone 16 Pro Max was the improved tetraprism camera. Apple produced 6 million units of the iPhone 16 Pro Max in anticipation of increased interest in the model, a 106 per cent increase over the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year. Apple is expected to adopt more aggressive strategies next year to stimulate demand given the current sales results.
