Samsung Galaxy A16 5G could be the first budget smartphone to get 6 years of Android updates
Earlier, Samsung first announced a long-term 7-year support for the Galaxy S24 series of flagships. This includes both operating system updates and security updates. Also included in this list are the Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6. Now, the long term support for one of the company's budget smartphones has also been revealed.

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy A16 5G, which could be the company's first budget smartphone to receive Android and security updates for 6 years. This is a significant improvement over previous models that received Android updates for 2 years and received security updates for another 2 years.
The Galaxy A16 5G will be unveiled in the coming months and is rumoured to feature Exynos 1330 and MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processors, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, and versions with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
