Snapchat announced a major redesign of the platform for the first time in years

Snapchat announced a major design update, the first in years, and introduced several new AI features.

Here's What We Know

The new interface, dubbed "Simple Snapchat," now includes three tabs, "Chat," "Camera," and "For You." The "Chat" tab combines Snapchat Map, Stories, and private chats. The "For You" tab uses a new recommendation system, showing videos from friends and personalised recommendations.

Snapchat has also added a new AI lens called Grandparents, which shows how users will look in old age. This lens is available in the Camera tab. There's also an AI Memories feature that lets you view your memories in full-screen mode with collages and video mixes. Snapchat+ subscribers will have access to new AI Snaps based on the My Selfie feature, which lets you create AI identities through generated images.

Snapchat is testing the new interface and plans to fully roll it out in the coming days.
