The Galaxy A56 5G smartphone has already appeared in the IMEI database and that means Samsung is already testing it out
Samsung is already working on the successor to the Galaxy A55 released in March this year. This is evidenced by the appearance of the Galaxy A56 certification on the respective platforms.
Here's What We Know
The new smartphone, the Galaxy A56, has been spotted in the IMEI database under the model number SM-A566B/DS and the name Galaxy A56 5G. This means that Samsung is already testing the new model, which is likely to be announced in March 2025.
The Galaxy A56 is expected to be powered by the new Exynos 1580 chipset, which includes Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 cores as well as the Xclipse 540 GPU. This chipset also has an improved Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to compete with the flagship Exynos 2100 chip.
On Geekbench, the Exynos 1580 chipset scored 1046 and 3678 in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively, which is comparable to the Snapdragon 888 processor. The device on which the test was conducted was running Android 15. The chipset's 1+3+4 architecture promises improved performance over the previous Exynos 1480 with a 4+4 core layout.
The Galaxy A55, the predecessor to the A56, has a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, 50MP + 12MP + 5MP camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
