Google Calendar gets a new feature to add birthdays easily
Google Calendar users will have a new feature that will make it easier to add birthdays. Now there's no need to use Google Contacts to mark these important dates.
Here's What We Know
Starting next week, Google Calendar on Android is getting a new type of event - birthday. This feature removes unnecessary event properties, making the creation process much easier. Users will be able to enter only the name and date of birth, choose the colour of the event, and set up notifications.
Previously, adding birthdays required syncing with contacts and creating recurring events, which was inconvenient. Now, the event will automatically recur every year, without the need to configure additional settings.
The new feature will first appear in Google Calendar on Android and will soon be available for the web and iOS versions. It will be available to all users, including Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers.
